born in Beijing, China (1999), lives and works in Manchester, United Kingdom.

Faye Yan is a performance and visual artist. She studied at UCLA and later at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her practice draws on inscrutable urges and visceral sensations within the body, tracing uncanny connections between memory, heritage, and the raw textures of everyday life. A dancer and painter, she works interdisciplinarily across painting, performance, durational practices, and theatre.

Faye’s solo and collaborative works have been performed and exhibited in spaces such as Southbank Centre, Contact Theatre (Manchester), Riposte (London), Aotuspace (Beijing) and X Museum (Beijing). Notably, her award-nominated one-woman show received wide acclaim at Edinburgh Fringe and Hollywood Fringe.
