Faye Yan (b. Yafei Zheng) is a performance and visual artist born in Beijing, lived in LA and London, and currently based in Manchester. Her work combines durational art with theatre and painting with dance, exploring endurance, femininity, heritage and subtle rebellion through seeing the personal as political. Faye’s award-nominated one-woman show “IS THERE WORK ON MARS?” received wide acclaim while touring in Edinburgh Fringe and Hollywood Fringe amongst many other UK and international festivals in 2024 and 2025. Her solo and collaborative projects have been performed in spaces such as Southbank Centre, Contact Theatre Manchester, Riposte London, Aotuspace Beijing and X Museum Beijing. Faye graduated from UCLA with a BA in Comparative Literature and later from Goldsmiths, University of London with an MA in Performance Making.
